Select Seven Tryouts

Tryouts for the Select Seven team are on the dates listed below.  The Head Coach for the team is Carl Olender.  Players eligible for the team have to be born in 2001.

Friday, November 21st, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Adie Knox Arena

There is an $8.00 fee per tryout.  If you have any questions regarding the tryouts, please contact the Vice President of Travel,  Al Iatonna at:  996-9861

Novice Team Wins Stoney Creek Tournament
 

The Novice 'AA' team sponsored by Maximum Edge won the Stoney Creek Tournament this past weekend.  The team finished 2nd in round-robin play then beat the Georgina Blaze 1-0 in the semi-finals.  The team then won the Championship with a 2-1 win over the Chatham Maroons.  Congratulations to Head Coach Steve Silverio, his staff and all the players!

Convenor Needed - Midget Tier 2

Attention All Goalies:  You have a chance to win $2000.00 in STOMP goalie equipment!  That's right, new pads, & gloves!  In-Play Magazine is offering up the new equipment to the person who makes the most posts on their blog.  The rules are as follows:

WESPY Awards Banquet

The 4th annual WESPY (Windsor, Essex Sports Persons of the Year) Awards Banquet was held recently at the Caboto Club.  It was a huge success as athletes and sports figures throughout Windsor/Essex County were honoured for their achievements.  Mr. Pat Ducharme and Ms. Martine Gaillard from Sportsnet were the emcees for the evening.


The WESPYs featured the presentation of the Mickey Renaud Leadership Award.  This years recipient was Mickey Renaud.  His parents accepted the award.  Pictured are Windsor AAA Zone President Fred Baldwin, WMHA President Dean Lapierre, Mark and Jane Renaud and Windsor Spitfire Head Coach Bob Boughner.

Olympic Gold Medalist Dorothy Hamill was the keynote speaker.  The event also featured the presentation of the Mickey Renaud Leadership Award.  The annual award is sponsored by the WMHA and the Windsor AAA Zone.  This year's recipient was Mickey Renaud; his parents Mark & Jane Renaud accepted the award.  Click Here to view all the pictures from the WESPYs.
